"I discovered a mostly unused tube of Emerald Green in a box of paints a while ago, thrown to one side after using it for one work - I don’t even remember which!

It’s a colour I don’t really use in my normal palette, but I found myself drawn to the odd and unnatural shade of green. When I devised this painting, it sprung to mind because of that wet winter grass - the sort you get when droplets of water rest on the blades on a foggy morning - and I especially enjoy it against the cadmium red and paynes grey the trees are made up of. In fact they are pretty much the only three colours in the whole painting.

The way light travels through trees in different seasons and weather is something I find I’m returning to as a theme again more recently, and my new work is focused more closely on playing with this."

Framed in a contemporary black wood tray frame and ready to hang.

Finished with a low-sheen varnish for protection.

Shipped free of charge to the UK and Ireland.

If you live outside the UK, please contact me for an international shipping quote before making your purchase.
