The wind turbines are on farmland up over the ridge of Royd Moor, a 10-minute walk from my studio. The Wind and Weather (with capital 'W's) drive in from the Pennine Hills to the west with great gusto, and gives life to the blades, and to our modern, electricity-powered routines.
These soaring, elegant beasts take on the colour of the weather and seasons, looking over the landscape like silent sentinels. The extraordinary turbines look even more magical against the striking whited-out landscape—almost glowing in the dazzling, frozen sunshine.
One of a collection of works I made investigating the relationship we have with our changing rural landscapes.
Framed in a contemporary black wood tray frame and ready to hang.
Finished with a low-sheen varnish for protection.
Shipped free of charge to the UK and Ireland.
