Inspired by emotions/memories evoked by the sensory experience of trees, with a focus on depicting light and negative space, as much as imagery.
Created by using a base layer of splattered oil paint of different densities mixed on the surface, with subsequent layers of opaque paint and glazing.
This is from a more abstract body of work, exploring aspects of dendrology, intertwined with the Japanese concept of 'Komorebi'.
Framed in a contemporary black wood tray frame and ready to hang.
Finished with a low-sheen varnish for protection.
