These abstract little paintings are rich with layered brushstrokes, scraped textures, and glimpses of teal and gold, with the palest green-grey sky teasing through foliage.
They began with instinctive charcoal marks and a cascade of abstract splatters in acrylic paint, then built up and refined in oils.
These jewel-like little paintings are a mini-collection made within an over-arching body of work exploring the Japanese concept of 'Komorebi' (the feeling and atmosphere of light filtering through trees).
