Limited Edition Giclée Print - Edition of 50
This artwork is for those days when the world feels dull.
I glanced up, and there it was—a canopy of riotous colour in a grey supermarket car park on a dreary October afternoon. Light through fiery-red backlit leaves, rich with crimson and gold. This painting is one of four that captures that fleeting moment.
The original painting started as a loose charcoal scrawl, with scrapes of acrylic paint and splashes of colour added as a base. It became something increasingly meditative as I slowed down and added oil paint to show the filtering light and dimensions of leaves. You can see where the brush scratched back, where the paint clings and slips, and the history of the painting in its layers.
Teal, rust and deep maroon stains, scrapes and shadows against the palest green-grey sky.
A jewel-like fine art print which lights the wall up in a hopeful defiance of mundanity.
From a body of work exploring the Japanese concept of 'Komorebi' (the feeling and atmosphere of light filtering through trees).
One of a collection of four prints - you can purchase them as a set here.
Available unframed, or with a neutral-white conservation mount and black wood frame ready to hang. Please choose your preference before adding to your basket.
